THIRD ROW, CLOSE TO THE EDGE

Inspired by real people and events, the performance pictures a series of personal stories belonging to the members of the gay community in Romania spanning a time frame of one hundred years. Using a cinema’s space of memory, the characters reel themselves in front of our eyes like ghosts stamped on the plush chairs. Their dramas mingle with those on the screen, all the while outside the „Great History” is unfolding.

This performance was created as part of the cultural programme „100 years of Romania. Three secondary histories”, co-financed by AFCN (The Administration of the National Cultural Fund)
