In an imagined near-future, marked by the irreversible acceleration of global crisis, a slow and unofficial cultural reform turns several theatres into hybrid research laboratories. The show takes place a few years later, in one of these converted venues, when the old performers meet the unexpected effects of their own work. It’s uncertain if there is another crises starting to develop in the defined perimeter of the venue and of what kind of answer it needs.
The performance EVENTS HORIZON is part of the series of events and processes developed around the 10 year anniversary of Reactor. In this sense, it’s a site-specific performance, part of its themes and references being strongly connected to this particular moment. The play was created after an idea by Mihai Păcurar and developed in a workshop that explored the connection human-nature-technology, together with the artistic team. The play includes adapted fragments from Hamlet, Little Red Riding Hood and the Powerpuff Girls.
