A red dwarf star, somewhere in the constellation Giraffe. The way towards it. The distance and the longing for home. All we know, existing at the same time as both particle and wave. A bunker where we are forced to take shelter. Or a metro station. The moment we look each other in the eye. The moment when someone steps in front of the others and says something.

”Gliese 445” is a meditation on the past and the future of humankind, as well as a challenge to reflect on the fragility of life and the power of theatre to imagine possible futures. In a world full of violence and uncertainty, ten performers meet in two different cities, mediated by technology, and dare to hope. They started from the question: ”What would it be like if this were the last performance in the history of humankind? Or in my personal history?” They won’t be able to imagine the script until the end, but maybe that is precisely what will set them free.

The performance is a co-production between Reactor, Cluj-Napoca, and the Andrei Mureșanu Theatre in Sfântu Gheorghe.

The performance is produced in the cultural program ”Perspectives”, co-financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration. The program doesn’t necessarily reflect the position of the National Cultural Fund Administration. The NCFA is not responsible for the program’s content or the way in which its results can be used.
