If you want to explore new connections, to build a stronger community of practitioners in Cluj — this is for you.
zusa is a collective based in Berlin that works in Europe, North Africa, West Asia and beyond. Together with partners, they create and implement programs based on collaborative principles.
During this three days workshop, together with Adina and Silvana, two facilitators from zusa, we’ll explore ways to build and deepen connections, share insights and collaborative methods, understand the local cultural ecosystem, and find ways to build on it by peer to peer exchange. It’s a space to co-create and exchange — a do-it-together approach.
The design of the three days includes:
- Setting the stage: building & mapping the connections (zooming out and looking at the bigger picture)
- Peek behind the scenes: digging into the reality, benefiting from the collective brains
- Before we go: Towards tomorrow
We’ll get together, share learnings and resources, look at the best practices we can exchange to make our lives easier, do our work better, and have fun.
Facilitators: zusa facilitators Adina Constantin and Silvana Naguib
zusa is based in Berlin and works in Europe, North Africa, West Asia and beyond. At the core of our work and values is a do-it-together approach. Together with partners we create and implement programmes based on collaborative principles. We see our role primarily as supporting others to get better at their work by introducing tools of collaboration, acting as a backbone and forging more alliances. We like trying new ways of working and we remain curious about the possibilities that our different experiences, knowledge, and perspectives can bring to our joint work. zusa was established in 2021, born out of the Cultural Exchange department of MitOst e.V.. The Cultural Exchange department has developed and implemented programmes such as Tandem – Culture without Borders and Actors of Urban Change. Now zusa operates independently while remaining a driving force in the MitOst network. Since its founding in 1996, MitOst connects active citizens in an open and diverse network in Europe and its neighbouring regions.
Adina Constantin is an emerging stop-motion animator and marketing & communications freelancer. She collaborated with zusa as a co-curator for an AiR Programme and Communications manager. Adina joined zusa early in 2022 through a long-term ESC volunteering experience. The vision she has crafted for herself intertwines the passion for community building and the cultural sector with her artistic inclination. In her artistic practice, she likes to build setups for animation, play with textures, create a miniature space from reused materials. It usually includes prints, drawings and notes from her personal archive.
Silvana Naguib – With over 12 years of experience in facilitating and designing intercultural, cross-border programmes for NGOs and cultural & art organizations across the MENA region, Sahel region, and Europe, skilled in facilitating processes, mentoring and coaching both individuals and organizations, managing and measuring programmes impact. Working on building and sustaining communities and networks.
The workshop will be held in English, yet we have a Romanian speaker facilitator among the two, so don’t make the language barrier hold you back, we can find ways to communicate .
