Fluid Borders

A charming, half-hunting dog sets off on an adventure from home, chased by a deep sense of guilt. In his delightful quest to find his true place in the world, he meets all kinds of fascinating creatures: friendly ghosts who give him a fresh new purpose, rats who warmly offer temporary shelter, ducks who give him absolutely nothing, and lady mosquitoes who take a little, but give back too! Meanwhile, his sweet owner, Vlăduț, loses his grandmother by the river, and the nightmares that begin to appear deepen his grief and anxiety. All on his own, our lovely pup Cartuș has the most wondrous, hallucinatory dreams of reuniting with his lost friend and embracing his own destiny. But beyond this heartwarming reunion, the story whispers of a connection that touches us all: our harmony with nature, beautifully represented here by the waters around which everything unfolds. This is a wonderfully green coming-of-age tale that dares to speak of loss with touch of tenderness and playful humor, starring a truly special dog you're bound to fall in love with!

Ștefan Mihai is a vibrant, emerging playwright and theatre researcher! He graduated in Letters (English-German) and Theatre Studies from "Babeș-Bolyai" University, and is currently pursuing two exciting master's programs: Directing – Collaborative Practices at UBB, and Playwriting at the University of Arts in Târgu Mureș. With a rich background in prose and poetry, he has recently focused his creative energy on drama, wonderfully exploring the tensions between personal and social spaces. His engaging plays have been selected for prestigious events including: the FITT National Playwriting Competition (2024 & 2026 eds.), Fluid Waters and Borders (IOTA, 2025), OraDeA – Dramaturgia (Oradea, 2026), DRAMATIC (CrisACT, 2026), and Reactor – DRAMA 5 (2026). He directed the captivating one-man show Messier87 (2026), based on his own text, and wrote Apocalypso (2025), staged at Reactor, as well as On That Day the Sun (2026), staged by Crisact in Bucharest. He is passionately dedicated to documentary, social, and youth theatre for Gen Z, tackling key topics like bullying, sex education, academic pressure, burnout, competition, and various forms of marginalization with empathy and theatrical flair.
