Calling all parents: Join our dramatic writing workshop!

Cluj is home to around 30,000 cheerful students! Every single day, we, the parents of these bright minds, excitedly plan tens of thousands of school trips, delicious meals, and educational, artistic, and sporty adventures. We are always on the move, busy, and happily dedicated to building for them, piece by piece, the most wonderful childhood possible in the smartest and safest city in Romania. But what if we all paused for a magical moment, took a deep breath, and looked around us so carefully that we actually saw the beauty we usually miss? Then, with a loooong exhale, our warm energy would sweep like a friendly, perfectly tuned wave over us, our children, and the whole city. What wonderful things would change?

We cordially invite you to a delightful series of creative writing workshops for parents! Together, let's breathe in, breathe out, and dream up a spectacular theater show all about us and the vibrant city we call home.

These workshops are part of the exciting creative research for an upcoming play (working title: "The Parent-Teacher Meeting" / "School Run") at the wonderful Reactor of Creation and Experiment!

FACILITATOR: Selma Dragoș – playwright and director. Selma is a proud mom who lives and breathes theater! As a mother, she is secretly driven by the lovely wish to be the absolute best mom ever. She'll never admit to this on stage, of course—she'll smilingly tell you that taking part is what truly matters, not winning. In theater, she is inspired by those curious real-life moments that are almost too wild to believe!

CONSULTANT: Vlad Alexe – PhD candidate in sociology at Babeș-Bolyai University. He loves working in the fascinating fields of mobility and urban sociology. By joining us for a friendly 1h30 interview during this project, you'll not only help shape our theatrical script but also contribute to a wonderful study on how we navigate and enjoy our city every single day!

Attending all sessions is wonderful, but absolutely not mandatory! We know that in the busy, beautiful life of a parent, little dramatic twists can pop up... keeping you from the plan. We don't always have the luxury of a long-term commitment, and that is perfectly okay!

Would you love to join the workshop, but aren't sure what to do with your little one on a Thursday afternoon?

On Thursdays, our cozy parents' workshops will take place at Qub Education, right on the ground floor of the Octavian Goga County Library, Calea Dorobanților 104. Right next door, just 10 meters away in the children's section, the library hosts STORY HOUR – a fantastic, free workshop for kids!
Our Saturday workshops will take place at the Reactor of Creation and Experiment. We'll joyfully finalize the times together once our group is formed.
