CULTURAL MEDIATION WORKSHOP for ADULTS
Exciting news! MiniREACTOR is launching a wonderful call for all the amazing parents and educators (teachers, cultural facilitators, mediators, and creative minds alike) in Cluj!
Deadline for registration: May 9, 2023
In the very first stage of our magical project, “Olguța`n Cluj - Traveling Theatre”, we are delighted to invite 10 enthusiastic adults to join a lively cultural mediation workshop. This delightful workshop will be led by the talented playwright Ana Cucu Popescu, who will share fantastic, supportive methods to help children receive, decode, and fully enjoy the magic of theatre!
For the artists and cultural operators dedicated to children's theatre, building an open, heartwarming relationship with our young audience is absolutely essential. Cultural mediation is all about making theatre accessible to as many bright eyes as possible. Why? For the pure love of education! As Viola Spolin beautifully puts it, "Theatre games are a process of communication and knowledge applicable to any field," and Radu Apostol adds, "Drama education is a wonderful extension of how education naturally happens in the family."
A cultural experience isn't truly complete without that lovely moment of reflection afterward! So, if you are a passionate parent or educator (teacher, facilitator, or mentor) eager to guide the little ones on their journey of understanding and enjoying theatrical performances, we can't wait to welcome you on board!
Participation in this workshop is absolutely free, and it will take place in the cozy REACTOR space, Petofi Sandor Street, no. 4, on the following days:
→ May 12, 2023, at 18:00
→ May 13, 2023, at 11:00
→ May 14, 2023, at 11:00

This workshop is designed to offer participants a cheerful introduction to cultural mediation and theatrical analysis. Through watching delightful shows, fragments of performances, and engaging in lively discussions and practical exercises, you will learn how to capture the heart and message of a cultural piece and share it beautifully with our youngest theatre-goers!
Each session lasts for a cozy 2 hours.
The lucky participants selected for the workshop will be announced via email on May 9, 2023.
Upon request, we are happy to provide certificates of participation.
Meet our wonderful coordinator:
Ana Cucu-Popescu is a graduate of the Faculty of Theatre and Television at UBB Cluj-Napoca, specializing in Theatre Studies (2010), and holds a Master's degree in Playwriting and Filmology (2012) from the same university. She began her exciting journey as a playwright back in 2008, when her very first original play was staged! Since 2015, she has been collaborating with the charming "As You Like It" theatre school of the Urban Refuge Association in Târgu Jiu, coordinating creative writing and personal development workshops for kids and teens. In 2017, alongside actress Simona Urs, she co-founded her very own lovely theatre school, "Scena Mică" (The Small Stage) in Târgu Jiu, where she continues to guide workshops centered around dramatic writing with passion and joy.
At MiniREACTOR, Ana Cucu Popescu has led numerous fabulous writing workshops for children, young adults, and dynamic parent-child duos. She is deeply passionate about inspiring future generations in a spirit of equality and tolerance, both by creating wonderful cultural projects for them and, most of all, through hands-on workshops that offer friendly guidance in creating their own artistic works!
