Our Stage Blog!
re.adapt is finally starting! Join us from May 5th to 20th, 2021!
Reactor is thrilled to step out and meet you, our wonderful audience, in various spaces around the city as part of the exciting re.adapt project!
Six delightful artistic interventions will blossom across town at the Casino Urban Culture Center, the 10×10 Installation on Eroilor Boulevard, Iulius Mall, Cinema Arta, and White Cuib.
re.adapt is the heartwarming result of the Reactor team rethinking our work to stay active, vibrant, and relevant during challenging times, while testing creative new ways to connect with you! Artists collaborating with Reactor have been invited to playfully re-imagine shows from the Reactor and MiniREACTOR repertoires into delightful, safe, and free-to-visit installations, no matter the pandemic restrictions.
These magical installations will launch on consecutive days from May 5th to 9th, remaining on display until May 20th. For those who want to discover even more about the installations, the inspiring texts and shows behind them, and experience the full, wonderful journey they create across the city, guided tours hosted by our lovely Reactor and MiniREACTOR artists will also be organized!

re.realm
interactive installation
Concept: Delia Gavlițchi & Florin Suciu
Text: Ana Cucu-Popescu
Music: Max Anchidin
This creative reimagining of the play "The Middle Realm" invites us to reflect on differences and the rigidity of social prejudices. Do we really all have to act the exact same way to find our happiness?
What happens when we struggle to look past the differences that divide us? How can we find a beautiful way to focus on what brings us together? Are our differences really an obstacle, or can we learn so much more from each other because of them?

re.stars
interactive installation
Concept: Delia Gavlițchi & Florin Suciu
Music: Max Anchidin
"Good" and "bad", "right" or "wrong" are incomplete stories we tell ourselves, and strict rules and preconceptions often end up causing misunderstandings sooner or later.
But are conflicts themselves purely good or bad? Hmm, hard to say!
"PERSPECTIVES" is the wonderful keyword we chose to reimagine the show "About Stars."
Right or wrong? Hmm, hard to say!

re.miracle
exhibition
Drawings: Lucia Mărneanu
Texts: Lucia Mărneanu and Petro Ionescu
A fascinating timeline of a "miracle" or the history of Romania's biggest financial scheme.
The Caritas phenomenon of the '90s had a massive impact on Cluj and the entire country during the transition years, and was brilliantly documented in Reactor's theatre production "The Miracle of Cluj." Several illustrations in this exhibition were originally designed for the play, but now we are excited to let this visual component shine on its own, adapted safely for the public space! The idea of an exhibition documenting an event of this scale helps us remember our recent history in a creative format. Instead of a dry historical display, it brings a fresh perspective through the witty and playful illustrations of artist Lucia Mărneanu. With the benefit of time, she looks back at these events with a wonderfully satirical, critical, and playful eye.
Friday, May 7 | Iulius Mall | 5:00 PM
re.ballads
audio installation
Concept: Raul Coldea, Oana Hodade, Doru Taloș
This installation proposes a lovely encounter between the residents of Cluj, who so often pass by each other without noticing. It's a warm invitation to think about the stories of our parents and grandparents, and how beautifully present their lives still are in ours. Come join this much-needed dialogue in a world that often keeps us apart!
Saturday, May 8 | Cinema Arta | 7:00 PM
re.row3
video installation
Concept and Direction: Alexa Băcanu and Doru Vatavului
Cinematography and Editing: Mihai Stanciu
Cinematography: Alex Costea
Featuring: Adonis Tanța, Lucian Teodor Rus, Oana Mardare, Doru Taloș, Daniel Tanța, Cosmin Stănilă (voice)
Special thanks: Gödri Attila, Monica Sebestyen, Gábor Zsófi
We start from the magical idea that spaces never forget, and that those who walk through them leave behind a soft imprint of their existence. Spaces remember, even those where we go to forget ourselves (or to remember who we are, which is wonderfully the same thing!). An old cinema is bursting with stories, and not all of them are projected on the silver screen. A cinema older than modern Romania can tell, if you listen closely, a beautiful, nuanced story of who we are and how we got here. A cinema is, above all, a welcoming refuge. When we sink into those plush velvet seats, relax our shoulders, and quiet our minds, we don't realize we leave a tiny piece of our soul there. Each of us is the main character in our own movie, searching the bright lights ahead for a formula, a meaning, a beautiful way to carry on our story. What would the movies of those who sat here before us look like? What comfort did they find? And how happily did they reach their final scene?
Sunday, May 9 | White Cuib | 7:00 PM
re.plasticatta
object and media installation
Concept: Adonis Tanța
Texts: Petro Ionescu
Featuring: Oana Mardare, Paula Maria Seichei, Lucian Teodor Rus, and Adonis Tanța
Video: Daniel Răduțu
Scenography elements: Denisa Berceanu
A playful exercise in blending two artistic mediums, offering a wonderfully distorted way of seeing things. Step into a creative space right on the border between video and text!
