OPEN CALL: Theatrical tools in times of crises and social conflicts
From June 8th to 11th, we joyfully invite you to an exciting theatre workshop led by the fantastic director Oliver Frljić, hosted at the Reactor space!
This wonderful workshop is set to explore dynamic political and artistic techniques in theatre performances, looking through the lens of our vibrant social contexts and how we connect with them.
The workshop will spotlight the diverse, thrilling performance strategies that Oliver Frljić has developed throughout his brilliant artistic journey. His work wonderfully blurs and even erases the boundaries between artistic and political representation, playfully mixing them up! Another key spark for our conversations will be how theatre can beautifully respond to emerging conflicts and the sometimes hypocritical reactions to these crises—which so often try to limit artistic freedoms or stigmatize artists who stand strong. To wrap things up, we'll dive into practical, uplifting tools to overcome the constraints of institutional depoliticization in theatre practices.
The workshop will be held in English and is warmly open to professionals and students from all theatre backgrounds!
Spots are limited, and we will have a friendly, light selection process. To apply, simply send us an email sharing your role and a cheerful 2-3 sentences about why you're excited to join us!
Please sign up only if you can join us for ALL the sessions. If any exceptional situations come up, just let us know in your signup email!
Workshop Schedule:
June 8th–11th – 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (with a lovely lunch break!)
Sign up by June 5th at rezervari.reactor@gmail.com
We'll send out the happy confirmations of participation via email on June 6th.
