This May, Reactor is coming closer to you! The newest Reactor production, Treasure City, directed by David Schwartz with dramaturgy by Petro Ionescu, is setting off on a wonderful mini-tour across Cluj-Napoca, from Iris all the way to Mănăștur!

A show that speaks right to the heart of Cluj and its locals is now easier than ever to enjoy! We are bringing the magic right to your doorstep in different neighborhoods, and best of all, admission is completely free with a 0-value ticket!

A witty, stand-up-paced look at high hopes, real estate speculation, and the hidden cost of progress, Treasure City digs beneath Cluj's five-star glitter and playfully asks: who's picking up the tab? Filled with delightful irony, the show explores how former industrial hubs turn into luxury hotspots, how plots of land are chased like gold, and how public spaces slip away behind a "smart city" facade.

In a city where the square meter is the most prized in the country and developers seem like the new world-builders, everyday folks are left searching for their place. The "magnet city," "five-star city," "smart city," and "treasure city" are just a few of the sparkling titles Cluj boasts—sparking both pride and plenty of lively debate among those affected by the hot real estate market.

Balancing promises of progress with the reality of soaring costs, Treasure City takes us on a vibrant journey through rapid urbanization, packed with humor, energy, and perhaps a sweet touch of nostalgia.

This production is part of the Treasure City – Performative Studies project, aiming to explore the exciting dynamics of Cluj-Napoca. It looks at how our city has blossomed and transformed over time, tracing changes in the housing market and their impact on residents from all walks of life.

Admission is free! Grab your 0-value ticket here: eventbook.ro/hall/reactor-cluj
