La Plasticatta is an experimental musical theatre performance combining original contemporary opera with elements of pop, hip hop and dubstep.
Built on the classical three act structure of opera, the performance is a critique of consumerism, as it is promoted in today’s society. If our time is split between work and other activities, the moments when we rest or just do nothing are more and more rare. Free time usually means that we have to be creative or productive by what we choose to do with it.
Using monotony and routine as a starting point, the performance is an invitation inside the artificial world of a model couple that conforms to today’s standards and fails in building a perfect world.
Performance produce in the Gap. Intergenerational stories project, co-funded by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund.
