In the midst of the pandemic year, the Reactor team is playfully trying to create a show about the generation gap, teaming up with a wonderful director from the older generation. Between lively Zoom meetings, failed text drafts, and the joyful effort to have a real dialogue, everything turns into a delightful frenzy of theatrical forms—a spirited quest for answers to those big rhetorical questions!

“In the fast-paced rhythm of pre-Covid life, a show would be ready in just a few months; from the first written word to the exciting opening night, it was a straight and clear path where everyone’s eyes were on the prize. The unexpected twist of last year changed our rhythm completely, making us stumble and wind through paths that seemed to lead nowhere. The final result felt further and further away, losing its grip on us. But taking this scenic detour gave us a beautiful moment to pause and think about the journey itself—not just pragmatically about how long it takes, but why we do it, how it became this way, if it could be different, and, above all, the wonderful meaning behind it all!” (Alexa Băcanu, playwright)

“With this show, I really wanted to settle some scores, so I rolled up my sleeves to joyfully bury: the mentor and legacy, militant political theatre, fragmented dramaturgy, and so-called new forms. From this grand, symbolic funeral, I hope something fresh and exciting will be born—we don't know what yet, but we'll see in the next project! Until then, I warmly invite our lovely audience to a self-deprecating comedy about the hilarious struggle of overcoming one's own limits.” (Leta Popescu, director)

“I have never been able to look at the Reactor hall as just a regular theater hall. Because it’s not! And I hope that in the future, it will be used less and less as a traditional space, even if theater will happily keep living inside it. With this exciting project, I chose to explore some older ideas about this. How necessary is a traditional stage design in an unconventional space? Does it help us, or does it playfully get in our way? Since we are talking about legacy... What beautiful things are we passing on?” (Mihai Păcurar, set designer)

This wonderful show was produced as part of the cultural program “Gap. Intergenerational Narratives”, proudly co-funded by the National Cultural Fund Administration!
