re.realm

Hybrid 1: Down with mirrors!
Hybrid 2: Make mirrors illegal!
Hybrid 1: Down! Down with mirrors!
Hybrid 3: Excuse me, what are you protesting about here?
Hybrid 2: Can't you read?
Hybrid 1: Down with the mirror on the wall, and let no one see themselves anymore!
Hybrid 3: But what have you got against mirrors? What have they done to you?
Hybrid 2: I can't stand seeing you anymore!
Hybrid 3: Me?! But we just met!
Hybrid 1: But you look just like me! You have the same face, the same nose… you even have the same hair!
Hybrid 2: Down with mirrors! We can't take it anymore!

(Ana Cucu-Popescu, "Tărâmul de mijloc")

The reconceptualization of the show "Tărâmul de mijloc" ("The Middle Realm") raises questions about how we look at differences and the rigidity of social prejudice. Do we really all have to behave the same way to find happiness?

What happens when we can't see past the differences that set us apart? How can we find a way to focus on what unites us? Are the differences between us a problem? Or can we learn from one another because of them?
