When the wonderful actress Eszter Nagy is diagnosed with dementia, her son Cristi lovingly chooses to return home to care for her. In a heartfelt attempt to shield his mother from the struggles of her illness, while preserving her public image and artistic personality, Cristi begins to feel his own life slipping through his fingers. Yet, Eszter's illness becomes a lively third character that the two of them bravely face together with plenty of humor, even as it leads them to rethink their deepest ideas about care, love, and dignity.
,,Witnessing the fading of one's own consciousness seems unbearable. There are 50 million incredible people in the world living with Alzheimer's. Many of them face their condition with beautiful resilience, even as they deal with the lack of treatment and social stigma. All the Things Alois Took from Me is a touching story about how we navigate the inevitability of our own vanishing.” (Cosmin Stănilă)
