Ana is a bit confused at thirty. Grandma is also a bit confused, but because she suffers from dementia. However, unlike Ana, even if her memory is fading, she knows very well who she is and what she thinks about everything.
She is not the person Ana would seek advice from right now, but Grandma doesn't ask for permission. After all, it's her birthday.
Like a broken time machine, she takes her through several generations of women and sees, beyond family secrets, inherited traumas, or biases, also the resilience and freedom she received along with them.
Grandma, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, with their humor, tenderness, and cruelty, are the foremothers from whom we all grew. All of us women.
And then there is also a Grandpa, but… it’s complicated.
